The museum’s official name is the State of Georgia Museum of Natural History, which should be used on first reference for off-campus audiences.

The natural history museum is located at 101 Cedar Street. The Natural History Building houses the administrative and educational offices as well as the arthropods, herpetology, ichthyology, invertebrate, mammalogy, ornithology and zooarchaeology collections.

The Botany Herbarium is located in the Miller Plant Sciences Building.

The archaeology collection is located in the Riverbend Research Lab on Riverbend Road.
